Westlawn play first games of the year at Barnier Park

July 8th, 2022

Westlawn FC have played their first home games of the season at their beloved Barnier Park.

Westlawn sides played at Barnier Park for the first time this season, after their home fields were out of action due to the impact of wet weather earlier this year.

The Westlawn Tigers and Panthers sides took to the field for their Men’s 2nd and 3rd Division North matches, a moment which had been a long time coming and pleased club president Michael Salvestro.

“It was good to finally play a couple of matches at home, and the field held up pretty well,” he said.

“It was just nice to be playing on our home ground, and the canteen was also open for the first time, so it was good to finally have some sales income.”

The return to their home field was made all the more special with the Westlawn Tigers and Panthers sides playing off in their Men’s 2nd Division North match.
Barnier Park hosts its second set of matches of the year this weekend, with both the Westlawn Panthers and Jaguars at home for their Men’s 3rd Division North fixtures.
