Thank you, Fiona Clancy, on a big job well done

Even the best things in life have a shelf life, and Boambee FC president Fiona Clancy has decided the time is right to pass the mantle.
After eight years in the leadership group, and the past three as president, Fiona will leave a big pair of shoes to fill – so large in fact that you wouldn’t even find them in an Imelda Marcos collection.
Boambee couldn’t be in better shape for a new guard.
Their women have just sealed the premiership deal in 1st Division while the men are the defending Coastal Premier League North winners from 2020.
Fiona will officially vacate the chair at the club’s annual general meeting on October 13.
“I’d organise a party but I can’t (because of Public Health Orders),” she laughed.
“Rotation or change is not a bad thing and it’s time for some fresh ideas.”
Like so many clubs across North Coast Football, Boambee has seen a spike in member numbers this season.
“The club is in a good spot for someone to come in and take it forward,” Fiona said.
In a message to members, Fiona wrote: “If you possess the skills to provide leadership and direction to a great team of volunteers who make up the committee we would love to hear from you.
“Being a volunteer within your local community is very rewarding, knowing that the community and the economy is benefitting from your role instils pride within oneself.”
