Preview – Round 4 Australia Cup

March 9th, 2022

NORTH Coast Football clubs will look to keep their Australia Cup campaigns going this weekend as they try to progress to the next round, during the latest matches in Coffs Harbour.

Bellingen FC, Boambee Bombers, Coffs Coast Tigers and Coffs City United Lions will all be in action in their Round 4 matches at the Coffs Football Centre.

An-all North Coast Football showdown gets things underway on Saturday afternoon, as the Coffs Coast Tigers and Bellingen FC play off for a spot in the fifth round.

The Tigers booked their place in the fourth round with a 10-0 victory against the Taree Wildcats, while Bellingen FC received a forfeit from the Wingham Warriors.

The Coffs City United Lions will look to make it three Australia Cup wins in a row when they take on Iona FC in Saturday’s second Cup match.

The Lions knocked out both the Lismore Richmond Rovers and Camden Haven Redbacks to reach the fourth round.

Lions coach Glen Williams highlighted the knockout nature of the Australia Cup.

“Knockout cup evens the stakes as anything can happen, and we will go into the match with the same mindset as we always do, and you can never, ever underestimate any club,” he said.

The Boambee Bombers are scheduled to face Oxley Vale Attunga this weekend in their fourth-round match at the Coffs Football Centre.

The Bombers made the fourth round after winning a penalty shootout against the Northern Storm.
