NORTH Coast Football’s junior teams have made a perfect start to their representative seasons.
North Coast Football’s under 13s, 14s,15s, and 16s all won their opening matches of the National Premier League season.
The North Coast Football sides beat Lake Macquarie FC away from home to kick off their season.
The under 15s and 16s were both 4-1 winners, while the under 13s and 14s were both convincing winners with the 14s beating Lake Macquarie 9-0, and the 13s winning 7-2.
North Coast Football coach Alex Nolan said he was most pleased with the compete effort shown by the players over the 90 minutes.
“Looking back, I was really happy to see how we played in the second half each game,” he said.
“No matter what the score was, we didn’t take our foot off the gas and it was very pleasing to see the effort we showed going into late in the game.”
North Coast Football will now play their second matches of the season against Maitland FC this Saturday at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility.
Coach Nolan indicated Maitland would provide a stern challenge in addition to the disruptions the North Coast Football sides had faced this week.
“Maitland will be a good test, as they are a strong all-around,” he said.
“We’ve had interruptions this week with COVID and injuries, so it will be a good test for us.”
