NPL – Round 8 review

May 3rd, 2022

NORTH Coast Football’s junior representative sides have made it a perfect matchday at home during the latest round of the National Premier League Boys Northern NSW season.

All four North Coast Football teams earnt the three points against the visiting Adamstown Rosebud FC, in a fantastic afternoon for the region’s representative juniors at the Coffs Football Centre.

North Coast Football’s under 14s maintained top spot on the ladder with a dominant 7-0 victory, while the under 16s maintained second spot on the ladder with a 3-2 victory.

North Coast Football’s under 13s and 15s sides also got in on the act, with the 13s beating the visitors 11-1, and the 15s winning 6-3.

North Coast Football Player and Coach Technical Development Manager, Alex Nolan, explained the under 16s did it the hard way to earn their win.

“They faced some challenges, despite dominating possession they missed two penalties, but they got the job done.”

North Coast Football’s junior representative sides now face a tough challenge this weekend against Newcastle Olympic FC, who have all four of their sides in the top 4 and are leading the under 13s and 15s competitions.

A challenge which Nolan said his sides were looking forward to facing.

“Newcastle Olympic are known to be a big feeder club for NPL teams, so it will be a tough challenge especially at Lake Macquarie,” he said,

“But the players are chomping at the bit to take them on,” he said.
