U13’s NCF 4 v Adamstown 2
The first 20 minutes was an arm wrestle, with both teams testing each other. Rosebud found their composure first and put away a goal. The game continued to be a battle until the dying minutes of the first half when Rosebud took a long range shot which found the top corner of the net. The second half saw a few positional changes from NCF and began moving the ball around with a new confidence. The increased ball control saw Jak rocketing in NCF’s first goal. Passes found their mark, and Jak found the net again and again. NCF leapt to a 3-2 lead. Rosebud pushed back extra pressure with no results, then Rory came into the action and put in the 4th for NCF. A great result.

U14’s NCF 4 v Adamstown 4
Overall a well matched, hard fought fixture. Shell shocked early going 2 nil down. After 6 minutes the boys struck back through Nick Sweeney to stay in the contest. One more from each side saw the half time score 3-2 to Adamstown. An early second half cracker from Ely Benson levelled the scores and Nick Sweeny put NCF in front with 15 minutes remaining. The final stages of the match were a genuine arm wrestle and unfortunately Adamstown were able to level the scores with just 45 seconds remaining.

U15’s NCF 6 Adamstown 3
A dominant performance from the defending premiers saw NCF run out victors 6 goals to 3. The boys were fast out of the blocks, not allowing the Adamstown boys to settle into the game. The half time score a comfortable lead of 4 goals to 1. The second half was a more even affair with two goals apiece. Fortunately for NCF, however, the damage was done.

U16’s NCF 3 v Adamstown 1
The U16’s had a very good 3-1-win against Adamstown Rosebud in Newcastle. The 1st half started very well for NCF, with the team controlling play with its continued patience and confidence. NCF’s accurate and fast ball movement allowed it to continually move from defence into attack, resulting in Charlie Alderman scoring twice. The second was a fantastic team goal, starting deep in the back half, moving up the field quickly with 1-2 touch passing, without Adamstown Rosebud players getting a touch on the ball till it was in the back of the net.
The 2nd half started with Adamstown Rosebud putting immense pressure on NCF, however, they then scored from a long ball caught in NCF’s defence of guard. NCF wrestled the momentum back into its favour, with Harry O’Garey scoring his 1st goal for the season. Everybody played well in a great team effort, with every player having an influence on the game at different stages.
