North Coast Under 15s growing into the challenge

October 7th, 2020
The NCF Under 15’s are a team heading in the right direction.

The North Coast Under 15s have been going along merrily – neither dominating nor struggling. The realisation of where they are truly at comes in their birth dates – the great majority of the squad are but 14 years of age.

NCF Technical Director Jack Dover has been personally guiding the 15s – and likes what he sees.

“They are pretty much all 14s playing up (an age), so this season has been a nice learning opportunity,” Jack said.

Simply put, most of the boys will be able to turn out for North Coast next year – in a second bite at the apple in the Under 15s competition.

Not that they haven’t made inroads in 2020 playing against older boys.

“They’ve been very competitive, even against the top Newcastle sides,” Jack said.

“It’s been an opportunity for them to develop a lot quicker.

“Some of the opponents have been physically dominant because they are older.

“But the whole squad has been coming along and we’re just looking to improve in the tactical and technical areas.”
