North Coast Football win all four against Weston Workers

May 24th, 2022

NORTH Coast Football sides have had a perfect matchday during Round 11 of the NPL Boys Northern NSW season.
North Coast Football’s junior representative teams made it four victories from as many matches against Weston Workers FC at Lake Macquarie.

The under 14s made a stunning comeback from 3-0 down to win 6-3, maintaining second spot on the ladder.

The under 16s had a 1-0 victory against Weston Workers to maintain top spot on the ladder.

North Coast Football’s under 15s team won 4-0, while the under 13s got the job done 2-1.

North Coast Football Player and Coach Technical Development Manager, Alex Nolan, gave his thoughts on a top weekend for the junior rep teams in the face of adversity.

“We had a lot of injuries and sickness, but we got the job done in the end,” he said.

“Our 14s were missing some key individuals and were down 3-0, but came out firing in the second half and scored three goals in the last 20 minutes.

“Our 16s dominated but didn’t take their chances but managed the game well.

“The 13s got two early goals and managed the game well to win, with Cooper Hatfield making some great saves.

“And it was a convincing win for the 15s.”

North Coast Football under 13, 14s, and 15s sides are at home this weekend to Cooks Hill United, who Nolan explained were the new kids on the NPL block.

“They are new to the competition and they’ve been struggling lately,” he said.

“They are fresh to the league, and we want to make it tough for them coming up to Coffs.

“It will be a good chance to not switch off and play for the whole 80 minutes.”
