North Coast Football teams bounce back at home

July 12th, 2022

NORTH Coast Football teams have bounced back at home with three wins from four matches against the Lambton Jaffas, in their matchday at the Coffs Football Centre Synthetics.

After a winless round in Lake Macquarie, North Coast Football’s junior representative teams responded in fine style during the latest round of the NPL Boys Northern NSW season.

North Coast Football’s under 16s showed why they sit at the top of the ladder with a 6-0 win against the Jaffas.

The under 14s also showed their class with a 4-1 win to maintain second spot on the ladder.

North Coast Football’s under 13s were also in the winner’s circle with a 3-2 victory, while the under 15s lost 3-2.

North Coast Football Player and Coach Development Manager Alex Nolan explained that the under 16s side kept their composure in the face of on-field discretions from the visitors.

“It was a pretty fiery first half, and we were 1-0 up at half-time when the referee sent off one of their players,” he said.

“Our players kept their nerve and discipline, and the goals piled on in the second half and then their keeper was sent off with about 10 minutes to go.”

Nolan was pleased with how his sides had responded to the previous weekend’s defeats to Edgeworth.

“We played really well across the board, and our 14s got off to a pretty good start and the 13s won a tight game.”

North Coast Football sides head to Lake Macquarie this weekend to take on Valentine FC.
