NORTH Coast Football sides have taken on competition heavyweights Broadmeadow Magic during the latest round of the National Premier League Boys Northern NSW season.
North Coast Football hosted Broadmeadow Magic FC at the Coffs Football Centre for their Round 10 matchday.
North Coast Football under 16s shared the points in a 1-1 draw in their top of the table clash with the visitors.
Broadmeadow would prove to be too strong in the other games, taking home all 3 points in the under 13s,14s, and 15s matches with North Coast Football.
North Coast Football Player and Coach Technical Development Manager, Alex Nolan, felt that Broadmeadow had provided a formidable challenge.
“They were really tough and really strong against us in all age groups,” he said.
“They were hungry and wanted to test us for 80 minutes,
“We had to raise our intensity and raise our game, and it was a really good experience testing ourselves against such a strong club.”
North Coast Football sides hit the road this weekend to take on Weston Workers in their Round 11 matches at Lake Macquarie.
Nolan said his sides faced some adversity heading into this weekend’s matches.
“We have depleted squads this weekend as there has been some sickness going through the teams,” he said.
“It’s going to be a tough ask and we’ll need to show some real character, as some players will have to play in two ages.
“But we should still be able to take it to them.”
