NORTH Coast Football has come away with two wins out of four against junior powerhouse Newcastle Olympic, during the latest round of the National Premier League Boys Northern NSW season.
Both the under 16s and 14s came away victorious from their road trip to Lake Macquarie, with the under 16s winning 6-1, and the under 14s having a 4-3 win.
North Coast Football’s under 13s went down 3-0 to Newcastle Olympic, while the under 15s were defeated 4-1.
North Coast Football Player and Coach Technical Development Manager Alex Nolan gave a recap of the Round 9 matches against Newcastle Olympic.
“The under 14s made it hard for themselves and escaped with a win,” he said.
“The under 16s came out firing and with a lot of energy and attitude and were up 3-0 at half-time,
“And the under 15s went down 4-1 after a slow start.”
North Coast Football teams now face arguably the best club of the competition, when they host Broadmeadow Magic FC on Sunday afternoon at the Coffs Football Centre.
“It’s going to be a big one for us this weekend at home, as Broadmeadow are near the top of all the competitions, so it’s going to be a big test” Nolan said.
“Hopefully the under 13s and 15s keep improving and the under 14s and 16s continue their good form.”
