NORTH Coast Football has had a day of dominance with a hat trick of wins against Cooks Hill United at home during the latest round of the NPL Boys Northern NSW season.
The under 14s maintained second spot on the ladder with a 7-0 win at the Coffs Football Centre.
North Coast Football’s under 13s and 15s representative sides both had 4-1 victories.
North Coast Football Player and Coach Technical Development Manager, Alex Nolan, said effort for the 80-minutes was the most impressive part of the wins.
“The best thing was we didn’t just go out hard for just the first half and take our foot of the pedal, we played the whole 80 minutes,” he said.
“All the teams got off to a slow start, but they started to get control of the game which led to comfortable wins.”
He acknowledged the top performance of the under 15s side.
“I was talking to the coaches, and although they didn’t score much in the second half, it was one of their best halves of the season,” he said.
North Coast Football sides head to Lake Macquarie this weekend to take on Charlestown Azzurri FC, which Nolan wasn’t underestimating despite their lower spots on the ladder.
“They are not looking the strongest teams, but you can’t judge a book by its cover,” he said.
“They are usually at the top of the under 15s, so you just don’t know whether they have had injuries or illness.”
