North Coast Football have good match day in Taree

July 26th, 2022

North Coast Football sides have had a good match day in Taree, coming away with two wins and a draw against Mid Coast FC during the latest round of the NPL Boys Northern NSW season.

North Coast Football’s under 16s extended their lead at the top of the ladder with a 3-0 win against the hosts.

North Coast Football’s under 14s went to second spot on the ladder with a 3-1 win against Mid Coast FC.

The under 15s had a 1-1 draw with Mid Coast FC, while the under 13s went down 3-0.

North Coast Football Coach and Player Development Manager Alex Nolan gave a recap of the matchday in Taree.

“It was the first time we had played on grass this season, and it was muddy fields and tough conditions,” he said.

“Our 16s were very clinical and got the job done, while the 13s were competitive against the top team in the competition,” he said.

“Our 14s held on for the win as it was 2-1 late before a last-minute goal made it 3-1.

“Our 15s by all reports played some good football, just weren’t able to get the 3 points.”

North Coast Football sides hit the road again this weekend when they take on Adamstown Rosebud FC at Lake Macquarie, which Nolan said was a chance to prepare for the business end of the season.

“This weekend will be a good chance to start piling together some good performances before the finals,” he said.
