NNSWF FFA Cup Northern Conference ‘Regional Qualifiers’ participants confirmed

April 3rd, 2019

Round 4 of the Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) FFA Cup Northern Conference came to a conclusion over the weekend leaving four sides who will compete in the Regional Qualifiers to determine who moves on to the NNSWF ‘State Qualifiers’ series.

Boambee Bombers, Coffs City United (North Coast Football), Kempsey Saints (Football Mid North Coast) and Bangalow SC (Football Far North Coast) all progressed.

Boambee Bombers, who featured in Round 6 in 2018, smashed their way through Northern Inland Football’s South Armidale United FC winning 7-1 as Mark Ifrah and Lachlan Moye both picked up doubles to help their side to victory, while Kempsey Saints narrowly fought out a win against Goonellabah Hornets, from Football Far North Coast, 5-4 on penalties after the two couldn’t be separated, ending 1-1 after normal time.

It was a tight tussle between Coffs City and Woolgoolga Wolves (North Coast Football), with a late goal from substitute Caleb Lokpo winning the game for the home side with a goal in the 72nd minute, after Woolgoolga equalised on two occasions.

In the final game, North Coast Football’s Coffs City Tigers went down in a close battle with the Bangalow Bluedogs who are now the only remaining Football Far North Coast side.

The two winners from the Round 5, Regional Qualifiers, will meet the six remaining sides from the Southern Conference at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility.

The draw to decide the Regional Qualifiers match-ups will commence next Monday, 8th April, 12:30 pm LIVE on NNSWF’s corporate Facebook page.

The FFA Cup provides football teams across the country the chance to face-off against elite Hyundai A-League clubs in the national knockout tournament.
