NORTH Coast Football is getting into the spirit of National Volunteer Week by recognising those who make community football possible.
National Volunteer Week is happening this week from 16-22 May, and is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering.
To celebrate the week, Northern NSW Football has launched It’s Good 2 Give Back, which aims to recognise the efforts of over 7000 volunteers who manage our clubs, coach our teams, run game days, mark the lines, cook the snags and all the other countless jobs to help their club run.
You can nominate a volunteer you think deserves recognition in the next edition of Northern NSW Football’s Local Champion Awards.
Or you can put your hand up to volunteer to help your beloved club, by registering your interest to volunteer.
There are a number of ways to help your club, which include becoming a coach or manager, committee member, helping with canteen or bar duties, providing general game day support, administration duties, helping with marketing/photography/social media, as well as fundraising.
In addition to helping your club, there are many positives about volunteering.
Volunteering is linked to positive mental health, builds a sense of connectedness and provides a sense of purpose.
It provides experience and opportunities that can help with studying and career, and it’s been found that clubs with a strong volunteering program perform better on and off the field
If you are a hard-working volunteer, you can share your story about why you volunteer and be in the running to win a First Touch Football Supplies voucher valued at $100.
