National and State Bodies Unite in Football’s Grand Plan

In the wake of Football Federation Australia’s (FFA) release of its 2016-19 Strategic Plan last Tuesday, Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) has released its vision for the game in the region through to 2019.

FFA’s four-year Strategic Plan signaled the first steps toward achieving its ‘Whole Of Football Plan’ 20 year vision for the game released in May 2015, that will see football the ‘largest and most popular sport in Australia’.

The FFA Strategic Plan released last week features four strategic pillars;

–         Connect more fans with the A-League and W-League
–         Improve the experience for all participants
–         Build generations of successful National Teams, and
–         Lead towards a unity of purpose.

NNSWF’s Strategic Plan was endorsed by the Board of Directors and subsequently by the organisation’s primary strategic forum, the Peak Steering Committee, comprising NNSWF’s seven Member Zones at consecutive meetings held yesterday at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility.

The new Strategic Plan reflects FFA’s four strategic pillars in a clear statement of aligned vision for the sport.

‘It’s imperative that our efforts across Northern NSW as the governing body for football in the region reflect and complement those of FFA at a National level,’ NNSWF CEO David Eland said.

‘We will be focused on four key areas;

–         Connect more fans with the Newcastle Jets – Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League
–         Improve the experience for all participants
–         Build generations of successful National Teams, and
–         Lead towards a unity of purpose

with each of these reflecting the direction taken by the FFA.’

‘All our resources will focus on delivering activities that contribute to the achievement of our objectives within these areas, that in turn will assist FFA in achieving their strategic goals. With this outcome in mind, NNSWF has set a series of Key Performance Indicators and Goals within each pillar. These include;

        Connect more fans with the Newcastle Jets

   80% of registered players throughout NNSW will identify as fans of the Jets
   70% of registered stakeholders throughout NNSW will identify as fans of the Jets

        Improve the experience for all participants

   70,000 Total Registered Players
   Female players will account for 25% of total registered players
   Increased the overall level of funding from Government directed to the improvement and development of facilities

         Building generations of successful National Teams

   All relevant National Squads will feature players who were identified and developed in NNSW
   Increase the percentage of locally identified players in the Jets Youth and W-League squads
   350 active and accredited Advanced Coaches throughout NNSW

        Lead toward a unity of purpose

   Consistent and compliant governance policies and procedures implemented throughout the sport in NNSW
   Satisfy Members’ expectations in relation to NNSWF’s overall performance
   Formalised relationship with the Newcastle Jets
   Maintain current net asset position

‘As part of this process, Northern NSW Football will adopt a new corporate identity, one that echoes this unified purpose and vision. From today, our logo and that of all other Member Federations around Australia, will mirror that of our national governing body, ensuring that there can be no doubt that nationally, we are united in the achievement of our vision for 2035,’ Eland concluded.
