June 6th, 2019

Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) is pleased to announce Liam Kalanj as North Coast Football Newcastle Permanent Referee of the Month for May 2019.

Liam Kalanj, from Coffs Harbour, officiates matches for North Coast Football and has shown true dedication and passion for the game giving players, coaches and spectators the best experience possible.

Liam has displayed all the attributes of not only a good Match Official but a good member of the Football Family,” NNSWF Senior Officer Community Football Ross Hicks commented.

Refereeing is often a thankless task, but I am very pleased to be able to thank and recognise the efforts of Liam and look forward to seeing him progress as a Match Official into the future.

Newcastle Permanent Coffs Harbour Branch Manager Erica Farag congratulates Liam on becoming the recipient of the Newcastle Permanent Referee of the Month Award.

“Through Newcastle Permanent’s Community Football Awards, we are able to recognise the important role referees play in reinforcing a culture of fair play and respect on the field,” Farag said.

“Our thanks to all the referees across Northern NSW for their contributions to the game and congratulations to this month’s winner.”

Liam will receive a referee spray jacket, cap, water bottle and a referee card set to assist in fulfilling his valuable duties on and off the field.
