August 12th, 2021

The local football community is one of the beneficiaries of a renovated and expanded amenities block at Iluka.
The new-look facility at Ken Leeson Oval has been all cisterns go since opening a few weeks back – and will be used by football, cricket and rugby union.
Clarence Valley Council received $500,000 in grant money, and tipped in the remainder to cover the $565,000 project.
Council’s Senior Parks and Recreation Officer, Rachelle Passmore, said the facility would serve the community year-round.
Project at a glance:
* Refurbish the existing change rooms, including new change room partitions, bench seating, epoxy floor system, installation of new toilets and wash basin
* Refurbishment of the existing canteen facility, including canteen ceiling replacement and roof extension, new sinks and epoxy floor covering
* Construction and fit-out of an additional change room, including new bench seating, epoxy floor coverings, partitioned shower cubicles, toilets and a wash basin
* Construction of a new storage room
* Demolition of existing public toilets and construction and fit-out of new accessible toilet facilities; and
* Construction of connecting access footpaths between facility buildings.
Rachelle said the project was funded in large part by the Federal Government through the Community Development Grants Program.
