Graham Shanahan from Sawtell FC Named Newcastle Permanent Community Coach of the Month

May 29th, 2019

Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) is pleased to announce Graham Shanahan as North Coast Football’s Newcastle Permanent Community Coach of the Month for May, 2019.

Graham was nominated by Sawtell FC for his commitment to a number of teams over the duration of his service to the club. For the last two years, Graham has been coaching a girls-only team where many of the players are just starting their football journey.

Graham is a patient and very knowledgeable coach nurturing a great team.

“Coaches are often the shopfront of our Community Football Clubs. They can sometimes be the only interaction our players and their parents have with a club.” NNSWF Senior Officer Community Football Ross Hicks commented.

“It is coaches like Graham who continue to ensure that Sawtell FC is a good place to play and that his players are enjoying a positive football experience,”

Newcastle Permanent Coffs Harbour Branch Manager, Lending, Erica Farag, congratulates Graham on becoming the recipient of the Newcastle Permanent Volunteer of the Month Award.

“Newcastle Permanent is proud to support community football across Northern NSW and, through our Community Football Awards, to recognise the efforts of a local coach who demonstrates a passion and dedication to developing his team.” Farag said.

Graham will receive a coaching pack inclusive of balls, markers, bibs, whistle, polo shirt and cap courtesy of Newcastle Permanent to assist them in continuing to fulfil their valuable coaching role at the club.
