Is your child looking to do more or go further with football? Do they want to go to the next level? The North Coast Football Skill Acquisition Phase program could be for them.
The Clarence Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP) program provides a clear and professionally delivered development opportunity for young girls and boys aged eight to twelve on the North Coast. For 15 weeks, girls and boys will come together for 75-minute training sessions once a week. Training in the NCF SAP is in addition to their club training program and playing with their clubs at weekends.
The training follows and incorporates the four core skills and focuses on individual performance and game understanding, and awareness. Emphasis is placed on development rather than winning matches, although we encourage players to develop a ‘winning mentality’ through their actions and attitude. This program is for players serious about developing their football skills and furthering themselves in the years to come. Players are selected for the program based on their current skill level, potential to develop the key skills required, attitude, and commitment to the program.
Former Socceroo Greg Brown will coach the program. Greg Brown is an AFC FFA A-License Coach who has spent many years in youth development and coaching on the international stage with the Matilda’s.
SAP runs between May and September and incorporates the fundamental principles of the Football Australia National Curriculum. Participation in the program is $300. Participants receive a training kit (except boots and shin pads).
There will be a combined U9/U10 Squad and a U11/U12 Squad training on Wednesday evenings in Grafton.
