NORTHERN NSW Football will be hosting its Club Gala Day Series over three Sundays, on the all-weather synthetic Football Fives pitches at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility.
The Club Gala Day Series is an opportunity for clubs to enter mixed and girl’s teams ranging from under 6s to under 11s to participate in a Gala Day format that will provide a fast and fun environment.
The Club Gala Days are all about sharing a mutual passion for football by participating in matches against teams from across the Newcastle region in an enjoyable round robin style format.
The first Gala Day will be held on Sunday,29 May, for boys/mixed teams in the under 6s, 7s, and 8s.
The second Gala Day will be held on Sunday, 5 June, for boys/mixed teams in the under 9s, 10s and 11s.
The third Gala Day will be held on Sunday, 19 June, for girl’s teams ranging from under 6s to 11s.
NNSWF’s Community Football Manager Ross Hicks said the Gala Days would be a chance to play against different teams.
“We will be delivering the Series as a five-a-side round robin with an emphasis on fun and playing against teams outside your zone,” he said.
Hicks encouraged clubs to register girl’s teams for the third Gala Day.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for girls aged five to 11 to play in an all-female environment that will provide players more football and development,” he said.
Registrations are now open for the Club Gala Day Series at a cost of $50 per team.
Hicks said the Club Gala Day Series was great value for money.
“We have tried to keep prices as low as possible to make it easy for clubs to get involved and benefit from the Club Gala Day Series,” he said.
