Boambee Eagles flying high in Women’s Over 30s

July 4th, 2022

THE Boambee Eagles Women’s Over 30s have been one of the standout teams of North Coast Football’s community competitions this season.

The Eagles lead the way in the Women’s Over 30s competition having been unbeaten so far with six wins and a draw to start the season.

Eagles player Fiona Clancy explained the secret to their success this season.

“We have a great camaraderie within the team, and we have a good mix of ages from early 30s to the more mature Eagles,” she said.

“Player numbers are good, and everyone is enjoying it and it’s great to have such a diverse range of ages and personalities fit together like we have done.”

Clancy said the Over 30s provided a more relaxed atmosphere compared with other women’s competitions.

“Although there is still plenty of competitiveness within the competition, it is much more laid back and becomes more about the participants, allowing them the opportunity to enjoy the game,” she said.

The Eagles sit 12 points clear at the top of the ladder and are coming off a 1-1 draw against the second placed Corindi Breakers.

The Women’s Over 30s competition is played each Thursday night at the Coffs Coast Sport & Leisure Park.
