Bells, whistles and full steam ahead at Yamba

May 17th, 2021

Yamba FC are a club leading the way with vision and will – and the latest addition to their armoury is a flash website (yambafootballclub.com.au).
The new portal has only just gone live, and it’s a professional storybook of club news, events, photos, history and contact information.
Yamba president Mark Skippings said the website is the brainchild of club stalwart and life member Anton Sluyters.
Anton has been around since day dot – a founding member in the ’80s when Yamba was a club for juniors.
It still is, but now also boasts a healthy seniors component – and a women’s side has returned to the competitive fray in 2021.
“Anton has been with us all along and since he’s retired he’s doing all these things like the website,” Mark said.
“We did have to spend a bit of money to get it, and we had the help of a tech guru. There’s still a few little tweaks to be made with links and the like, but we’re very pleased.”
Another new addition at Yamba FC is a sponsor board outside the clubhouse – and Yamba 16s coach Mark Pirie has been super active in winning support from the business community.
“We have a brilliant committee who can see that the club is wanting to improve,” Mark said.
“Our next goal – which will be a longer term one – will be updating the clubhouse.”
