Bellingen FC Kick Off

March 11th, 2022

AS they prepare for their debut season in the Coastal Premier League, Bellingen FC faces a tough challenge in one of their most important games in recent memory.

Bellingen take on the Coffs Coast Tigers in the fourth round of the Australia Cup on Saturday afternoon at the Coffs Football Centre.

The two clubs had vastly different paths in progressing to the fourth round, with Bellingen receiving a forfeit while the Tigers are coming off a dominant 10-0 victory against the Taree Wildcats.

The two sides have crossed paths already this pre-season, having recently met in a trial match at Bellingen in their first run of the year.

Bellingen FC coach Henry Gale looked forward to the challenge presented by the Tigers.

“We’re under no illusion we won’t just go in and stomp them,” he said.

“We know they are fast and energetic and have good finishers, but nothing we can’t figure out with our shape,

“Everyone knows it will be a tough match as they finished second in the CPL last season, but we’re more than up for the challenge.”

The Australia Cup tie between the two North Coast Football clubs features a Bellingen team stepping up to the Coastal Premier League for the first time in 2022, against a Tigers team who finished second on the ladder last season.

Bellingen also played a trial match against the Sawtell Scorpions at the Coffs Football Centre last weekend, as they prepare for their first season in the Coastal Premier League.

Bellingen FC will play their first ever CPL game at home against the Port Saints on Sunday, 3 April.
