Australia Cup – Round 5 preview

March 22nd, 2022

THE COFFS City United Lions and Coffs Coast Tigers will look to continue their winning form and progress in the Australia Cup this week.

The Lions and Tigers both play their fifth-round matches of the national knockout competition this week, with the Lions playing host to the Port Macquarie Saints on Thursday night at the Coffs Football Centre.

The Coffs City United Lions have been impressive so far in the Australia Cup, scoring 19 goals and conceding just 4 goals in their three wins.

They take on a Port Macquarie Saints side who have had two 1-0 victories on their way to the fifth round.

The Coffs Coast Tigers travel to Tamworth to take on Oxley Vale Attunga on Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers have also charged their way to the fifth-round scoring 13 goals and conceding just one in their two wins against the Taree Wildcats and Bellingen FC.

They travel to take on an Oxley Vale Attunga team who are coming off a 7-0 victory against the Boambee Bombers.

If the Lions and Tigers win this week, they will both progress to the Round of 64 remaining clubs in the country.

A win in the sixth round scheduled after this week’s matches will see clubs qualify for the national round of 32, and a potential match with an A-League side
