2017 Female Football Week

With the continual success and growth of the women’s game across Australia, Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) is proud to announce that Female Football Week will be held again in 2017. The week will start on Wednesday 8th of March running through until Sunday the 19th of March.

Female Football Week is a national initiative which gives the football community the chance to celebrate the immense growth of the women’s game and acknowledge existing players, coaches, referees and administrators in football.

North Coast Football will be holding several events across the week. These events include, skill sessions for females aged between 9-13, female only Coaching and Match Official courses, Female Football Seminars and Girls only ALDI MiniRoos Gala days.


If you are yet to plan an activity for Female Football Week there is still time; NNSWF encourages all members of the football family to get involved! If you require any assistance in planning an activity, please contact NNSWF Female Participation Officer, Nyssa Suchanow.

A brief description of the main events are below, please find the full Female Football Week Schedule.


NNSWF in conjunction with North Coast Football will be holding free skills session for girls aged between 9-13 across the State during Female Football Week.

The skills session will run in line with FFA’s National Curriculum Skill Acquisition Phase (SAP) and will focus on developing fundamental football skills and improve the player’s overall confidence. All coaches are accredited and currently coaching High performance programs in their local area.

All levels are welcome!

Each participant will all receive a free Female Football Week T-Shirt!

Coffs Harbour:

Location: McLean Street Fields, Coffs Harbour.
Date: Thursday 9th March
Time: 4.30 – 6pm
Cost: Free

The development of female coaches and match Officials is integral to the continued growth of football and more specifically, female participation.  Female only courses provide an opportunity for coaches and coaching newcomers and match officials to get together, gain football knowledge, develop coaching and refereeing skills and make connections with other females.

ALDI MiniRoos Certificate – Discovery Phase

For coaches training 5-9-year-old players

Location: Leisure Park 2, Stadium Drive, Coffs Harbour
Date: Monday 13th March
Time: 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm

The 3-hour course is fully practical and encourages the coach to develop practices that are based on FUN.The emphasis is on natural development i.e. learning by PLAYING football.

No coaching but organising FUN football exercises is the key to helping players build a love for the game.

Another highlight of the course is that the coaches are exposed to basic rules of the game as well as tips and hints on building a football culture in a completely practical setting.
