Emerging Skill Acquisition Program (ESAP formerly JDP)

Our North Coast Football (NCF), ESAP has been running for a number of years now and is a very successful precursor to the NCF Representative Football Program. We use the EASP as a method of identifying talented players who can successfully become a member of our REP Program.

For more information, here are some of the details regarding how our Program works:

Every year we have approximately 6 teams of 10 players involved in our ESAP including (if possible), a girls only team which we relax the rules on age. This girl’s squad is essentially for players who are turning 9 OR 10 in that year and this is only provided for our girls squads.

Trails are generally held in May each year (promoted via the NCF Clubs and social media) with the program for the successful players running through till Mid September.

Training sessions for the Coffs Harbour area playing groups are held at the Coffs Coast Sport & Leisure Park, Stadium Drive, near the C.ex Coffs International Stadium.

In the Clarence area we will have squads at Barnier Park, Junction Hill and Wherrett Park in Maclean.

At this point in time the Coffs Harbour sessions will be on Wednesday nights from 4.30pm – 5.30pm, Barnier Park Monday nights 6pm to 7pm and Wherrett Park Wednesday nights 6pm to 7pm (however, this will be confirmed withe respective squads).

Naturally, we would like to explain in more detail exactly what the cost of our ESAP entails:

  • It costs $250 per player & includes a training shirt and a training ball
  • Each squad, comprising of approximately 10 players, will work under the guidance of a qualified and recognised member of our NCF coaching staff, implementing the FFA’s National Curriculum Training Program
  • The program will include 13 training sessions. Importantly, no sessions will be held in school holiday

NB The above information is a guide / overview only and could be changed should the NCF Technical Director deem it necessary to alter the program for some unforseen circumstance.
