COMMUNITY COACH EDUCATION SYLLABUS

These courses are based on the new Community Coach Education Syllabus and will be the first of the new courses to be delivered in the North Coast Football Zone

The Youth Licence course targets coaches who are coaching 12-15 year olds and the Senior Licence course targets coaches who are coaching at adult level or 16 + year olds.

Under the new system, a coach simply has to know what age-group he or she is coaching and apply for the appropriate age-specific course.

Furthermore, the Youth and Senior courses have been divided into two parts. The content has been designed specifically so that a coach at the grassroots level can attend just the first part and have the basic understanding of how to work with his/her players.

Coaches who go on and attend the second part will have a greater understanding.

Both parts are attendance-only, non assessment courses.

To gain a Licence, after attending both parts, a coach must request and pass an assessment.

This allows three levels of accreditation to be used in Youth and Senior Community football; Certificate Part 1, Certificate Part 11 and Licence levels.

Below is a diagram of the new community coaching structure.

The new community coaching structure will provide a much improved coaching program for our members.
Benefits include:

It is structured for coaches to attend the course most suited to the team they are coaching;

No need to complete all components of the new courses, you can complete stages as you like i.e. you may just choose to do certificate 1 and 2 and not the assessment Licence criteria in Senior or Youth, coaches can just complete the certificate stages;

Courses are modular driven and as such if you miss a day  / module on a course you can complete on another course without having to attend the whole course;

New delivery methodology and content  aligned to National Curriculum provides for improved course content;

Standardised course structure and delivery methodology throughout Australia;

Aligning identified courses to the new coach education resource s2s online web based resource, provides all participants with an easy accessible coaching tool with over 1600 sessions;

All accredited coaches will receive free 1 years subscription to s2s resource during 2010;

Current coaches will be automatically moved across from old to new coaching structure in line with current accreditation;

Easier re accreditation process;

Recognition of prior learning included in new structure;

Course costs reduced to participants;

Junior Licence $90.00

Youth Certificate 1 -  $70.00

Youth Certificate 11 -$90.00

Youth Licence Assessment - $35.00

Senior Certificate 1 - $70.00

Senior Certificate 11-$90.00

Senior Licence Assessment - $35.00

Rather than having coaches assessed on Youth and Senior Licence courses, assessment days for coaches who have completed certificate courses will be introduced, thus allowing coaches to work with own team in own environment prior to being assessed.
